East and West and Cognition
Koláček, Luboš
of rigorous work Mgr. Luboš Koláček, Ph. D. The work is a specific approximation of the European author to the thought of the West with the East, based on the thinkers he selected on both sides. It presents a reflection of ontological, epistemological, ethical and psychological, sociological and other questions and answers to the problem, indicated by the name itself. It is a kaleidoscopic thinking that, by multiplying the contents in the reflections of the others and the others in the third thinkers, intertwines and unfolds into a huge breadth of ideas. In the work, intentionality is contained in the appropriate network of connections, which represents the West as thinking of explicit meanings and the East as thinking of implicit meanings. The point is to present to the reader not only ready-made statements, but the reader is invited by questions to cooperate in uncovering the unconcealed, i.e. aletheia. It is a hermeneutic method that starts from ready-made answers and only then comes to the questions that are at the same time the background from which the answer arose. It is a special dialogical method that does not want to juxtapose ready-made judgments, but requires the reader to go through this challenge as a co-solver of the question that is to come to the difference between the West and the...
East and West and Cognition
Koláček, Luboš ; Hogenová, Anna (advisor) ; Rybák, David (referee) ; Kalábová, Helena (referee)
The work is a philosophical and necessarily also historical-philosophical comparative analysis of mutually corresponding accents of the issue spanning the period from the 8th century BC to the present, with regard to the "axial period" of cultural "miracle" similarly prosperous cultures and philosophies in the relatively severed countries of East and West. It then deals in more detail with some important and fundamental philosophers and spiritual teachers, related scholars or artists of various disciplines, but also lesser-known personalities, based on general inputs into the deepest depths of thought of these thinkers, all in a relatively intuitive connection, because the scope of work does not allow for a more detailed continuous interpretation of such a wide range of issues. In the end, the author emphasizes, philosophically analyzes and evaluates the most pressing issues of contemporary society. The work should primarily show the Way, not lead, but it is up to the reader / researcher to decide how to approach the text. There is always "some" Enlightenment at the end.

Jančová, Martina ; Karmazin, Aleš (advisor) ; Knutelská, Viera (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with Dalai Lama's speeches, whose records are searchable on the Internet. At the beginning of this work, the basic concept of norm and normative entrepreneur is defined and the overall methodological procedure of the presented work is introduced. Thereafter, the historical context necessary to understand the context of this work and summarize the significant milestones of the life of the 14th Dalai Lama is presented. Subsequently, individual performances are presented in more detail, which are divided into groups according to their place and time. Then we analyze the Dalai Lama's statements and the standards presented to the audience. In conclusion, we find that the Dalai Lama's statements do not differ in the selected period and that the same values are held. From the analysis of Dalai Lama's statements, it is clear that there are the same values, and the Dalai Lama is thus a normative entrepreneur.

Rejman, Daniel ; Petráček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Bouma, David (referee)
His Holiness the Dalai Lama is received contradictory in the Czech Republic nowadays. Was it always like that? During his stays in the Czech Republic he enjoyed the favour of such personalities as Vaclav Havel and Tomas Halik. However, recently, the supporting of the Dalai Lama was criticized by not only the President's office but also by the Prime Minister himself. Has the view of the spiritual leader in the Czech politics and media completely changed? If so, what are the causes?
Comparison of Karmapas statements by critical discourse analysis in the light of postmaterialistic values concept defined by Inglehard
Doubková Brodská, Barbora ; Váně, Jan (advisor) ; Knotková - Čapková, Blanka (referee)
This dissertation is mainly focused on schism in the Karma-kagjü school. The death of the 16th Karmapa Rangjung Rigpe Dorje († 1981), the head of Kagjüpa plunged Karma-kagjü school to inner struggle for power and prestige. Enmity was making progress slowly and hiddenly. Situation graded in clandestine fashion and culminated in 1992 when Ogyen Trinley Dorje was enthroned in Tibet as 17th Karmapa. Some of the regents had doubt about him being the Karmapa and consequently enthroned their own candidate for 17th Karmapa. This act entirely divided the Karma-kagjü school. The primary motive and goal of my dissertation is to find presence of materialistic or postmaterialistic values defined by Ronald Inglehart (Inglehart 1997) in interviews given by 17th Karmapas. I'm looking for difference in values and my methodical instrument is critical discourse analysis. After comparison of interviews of both 17th Karmapas I find the difference in their values. My conclusion is that when Ogyen Trinley Dorje has more materialistic values than Trinley Thaye Dorje. This dissertation contains history of Tibet, history of Buddhism in Tibet and foreign relation interference in practice of Buddhism in Tibet (China and Mongolia). In addition I describe political situation of Tibet and Tibetan exile government which interfere in...

Pospíšilová, Linda ; Lehmannová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Kochan, Jan (referee)
The term "National interest" is used very often and in different contexts. Frequently is connected with the sentence:" The aim of our policy is to protect national interests." What actually is national interest? Who decides about it? By which means are national interests asserted? In the first chapter of this thesis are defined following terms: the nation, the state, the ethnic group, the national identity and character. The second chapter is focused on national interest and its different interpretation by basic theoretic approaches of the International relations. The third part works with the term "Diplomacy", particularly with public and cultural diplomacy, which is one of the tools of asserting national interest. In the last chapter are all the findings about the national interest and diplomacy applied on the particular example, Tibet, which is nowadays one of the focuses of tension in the world. To contextualize the issue, I also introduced briefly the history of Tibet, Tibet-China relations, the great powers 'view and the Dalai Lama, who is both the highest spiritual and also mundane leader in Tibet, great diplomat, upholder of the Tibetan's national interest and the human rights in generally.
